    • George went into the Church and became Provost of Bothwell and Lincluden, and was elected Abbot of Aberbrothwick in 1503-04, High Treasurer of Scotland in 1509, Bishop of the Isles - with his Cathedral in Iona - in 1510, and fell with the archbishop of St Andrews and several other Church dignitaries,on the fatal field of Flodden, 9th September 1513.
