Info from "The Dec. of George Palmer and Phebe Draper."
In the book Phebe Draper Palmer Brown" by Sarah Palmer Collinwood it states that Phebe was baptized for George on 8 April 1844.  It also states that they were sealed 1 Oct. 1924.

The author, Sarah Collinwood, moved to Salt Lake City, worked with other Palmer descendants of George & Phebe & by 1960 they formed a Palmer Organization and held a Palmer Reunion, where one person from each of the six then known children of George & Phebe were to gather & send their own data. Sarah followed up with the names & addresses sent to her and with great effort she published by 1963, although the printer failed to show the publication date in the Book. It has 1081 pages, plus family pictures, histories, & Index, (sold for $10.00 prepaid) Their lst son Asahel only named & his birthdate, then An Addendum Book 11/1997 gave Asahel, his wife Evaline Carter & their family's data, and the family of George & Hannah Wilkinson Palmer's twelve children, which book was called Supplement, with the same Call number as this Book, shown by 1993 in booklet and given film #2,055,478, no index. !page 11 gives the Baptism date, which temple work was done by grandson, Alma Zemira Palmer, at St.George Temple, also his endowment on 22 June 1881. A.Z. didnt get to attend the funeral of his father, Zemira, since he lived in Arizona Territory from l878, but visited his mother, Sally Knight Palmer, when he did this most important work. Phebe, wife of George Palmer (Jr) had done his baptism on 8 April 1844, and Alma Z. learned it must be done again by a male, so travelled to visit his mother, Sally Knight Palmer, and did it.

"Little is known of George Palmer Jr.  He was born July 13, 1795, somewhere in the United States.  He probably moved with his family to Cramahe township, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada, in September 1797 at age 2.
Hoyt Palmer, a great-grandchild of George, tells a story about George he heard from his father and uncles. who heard it from their father, Zemira Palmer; "In the rather sparsely inhabited area of 'Upper Canada' where George lived, there were frequent stories among the inhabitants of a large white wolf, which was making inroads among their livestock, killing several small animals.
While George was out on a winter night, walking through the snow-covered countryside, he saw, a short distance ahead of him, a white object which seemed a slightly different shade from the whiteness of the snow.  As he slowed down, his eyes on the suspicious object, he thought he saw it move, and prickles of apprehension raced up his spine, as he thought he might be coming upon the 'white wolf'.  In spite of his alarm, he quelled his mounting fears, and, seeing a sizeable stick standing up in the snow, he seized it to use as a club.  Then he advanced toward the object, which still stood beside the path he was following.
As he advanced close, he again thought he saw it move, but the night being fairly dark, he could not be certain, and as it did not flee nor come to attack him, he walked close enough to give it a hard blow with the club he had picked up.  To his surprise, the club came down on an object of more firmness than he had expected, and the stick broke in two.  A closer examination showed the object was merely an oddly-shaped, snow-covered stump.
On April 4, 1812, at age 17, George joined the Canadian Army as a private in the Glengarry Light Infantry Fencibles in Kingston, Ontario, and fought against the United States in the War of 1812.  He was stationed throughout the war in Canada where little fighting took place.  In 1814 he was in Montreal and in the beginning of 1815 in his hometown of Cramahe.
At the end of his three-year term in the military. George received land in Cramahe from the Crown of England for his service.  He married Phoebe Draper in 1815 and settled with her on his newly acquired land.  Phoebe had come to Ontario from the United States at age 10 with her family to visit her dying grandmother; after her grandmother had passed away, her family remained in the province.  George was 20 and Phoebe was 18 when they got married.  According to legend, George began working in Cramahe as a shoemaker.
George and Phoebe had their first two children in Cramahe but then sold their land and moved to nearby Haldimand, where Phoebe's father lived.  In Haldimand they had three more children.  By 1831 George and Phoebe had moved to Loughborough, Frontenac, Ontario, where their sixth child was born.  In 1832 at age 8, Eliza, their fouth child, was burned to death.
Missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints arrived in the area near the time of this accident.  Eleaser Miller came to Loughborough in 1832 and Brigham Young arrived in 1833.  Most of the Drapers accepted this new religion, but apparently George did not.  When Phoebe was baptized by Brigham Young on Feb. 17, 1833, George remarked. "So, you had to get your backside wet, did you?"
Whether George would have joined the Church later is not known.  He died in Canada in 1834 at age 38, leaving Phoebe pregnant with their seventh child.  Phoebe moved to Kirtland, Ohio, with most of her children and spent the rest of her life with the Church.  In 1844 Phoebe had George baptized by proxy, and later the Palmer children had George and Phoebe sealed together in the temple by proxy."

June 2004: I was in contact with Sheldon Elmer from 4737 N 83rd Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85037. He mailed me a disk of Palmer genenalogy. the information below is from Sheldon Elmer.

Birth & Place:Wife's Family Record gave 13 July 1795; see p.10c in FHLC Book 929.273 P182c, The Descendants of George & Phebe Draper, 1963, by Sarah Palmer Collinwood; & by Alma Z. Palmer bapt & end for his gdfather, George Palmer, who gave his birth as 13 July 1795 in Canada & U.S. p.548, Film #170852 & p.604 in F#170543, St.George Temple. This George is the 4th George in his Palmer ancestry, called Junior and the younger, when in the same documents shown with his father, George, called Sr. in Cramahe Twp records. His mother is Hannah Wilkinson Palmer, who shows on Land records of Cramahe. The Cramahe & Haldimand Baptist Church gave his father's acceptance July 7, 1798, & his mother, Hannah Palmer, baptised 1801. Census 1803-1834, Land Deeds-1797-1833; & his younger brother Isaac's Patriarchal Blessing given 3/1852 (copy 1992 from his descendant, Mellani Phelps) named his parents George & Hannah Palmer, that he, Isaac, was born 24 Aug 1806 in Cramahe.

Marriage: 8 Apr 1815 as shown by wife, Phebe, when she is baptised for her husband, George Palmer in 1844, F#183,379, Bk D, at the Nauvoo temple.

Death: as given by his descendants, 4 or 8 Dec 1833, at Loughborough Twp, Frontenac County, Midland District, Upper Canada, and buried there, probably beside his little daughter, Eliza, who it has been said died in 1832, by fire. His Palmer family records kept by his brother, Isaac, &/or his wife, Phebe Draper Palmer (Brown) were destroyed by the mob, 1844/47.

In search of prime records made by George Palmer Jr the Wesley Palmer Family made 2 trips into Canada, first in 1948. Then Gerry & Sarah Palmer Collinwood made a 2nd trip in June 1955, which proved to bring original copies of Grants from the Kings to George, his father, and copy of a grant to George Palmer, called Jr and the younger, for his SERVITUDE in the War of 1812 with the Americans.

MILITARY: George's birth date & place, his trade and place on enlistment had been recorded in the GLENGARRY LIGHT INFANTY FENCIBLE Regiment records, but they were destroyed at the Battle of York (the modern Toronto) in Apr 1815, which Regiment George served under from 4/4/1812 to 4/2/1815. as written by Lieut. Col. M.E.S. Laws, Brighton, Sussex, England, a Professional Record Agent, to Sarah P. Collinwood, (read pp. 24 & 25 in Book or FHLC Film # 1,321,355).

George Jr & his parents were deceased before the time an attempt was made to compile duplicate records, leaving us without that record of his birth, place & trade. But with records left by his wife, Phebe Draper Palmer, HIS WAR OF 1812 record, LAND DEEDS, BAPTIST CHURCH records, and THE MUNICIPAL RECORDS of CRAMAHE and HALDIMAND COUNTIES PAO-Province of Ontario Archives, 1803-1850, and TORONTO ARCHIVES CENSUS AND ASSESSMENTS, we have the FAMILY WHICH GEORGE PALMER JR was born into and lived with in Upper Canada. They are: George & Hannah Wilkinson Palmer (Sr), their children are: Charity Palmer Goslee, Joshua, Elijah, older brothers, Rebecca Palmer Pomeroy, George Jr, Phebe Palmer Goslee, Elisha, William, Wilkinson, Isaac, David and/or ANNIS PALMER.

George Palmer Jr at the end of his Military is stationed at his home place, Cramahe Twp, during Feb, March and discharged Apr. 2, 1815. He married Phebe Draper on the 8th April 1815, at Cramahe, Northumberland County, Newcastle District, Upper Canada. They are shown as married & in their own household #71 in the Census recorded Apr 1816, with 100 acres, living 6 homes to Wm Draper, his father-in-law. 1819 George Jr with 4 acres cultivated, 96 not. 1820 #136 George Jr, wife, 1 male & 1 female under 16 in Cramahe Twp. & bro. We express thanks to cousin Evelyn Bentley for her visit to Toronto Archives & Bowmanville City Library in Ontario, when she purchased 4 microfilm rolls of Newcastle District Census/Assessment for $25.00 each abt 1989, she gave them to Family History Center in Oakland, California, where they are still kept, we hope. On phone Nov 1998 she tells Lois they were to be kept in the front desk drawer. 1999 I hope these records will be searched by a Palmer descendant who will check those records for ALL GIVEN & SURNAMES of George Sr's descendants. She has also notified the Church filming department, which Allen also did in 10/1998 with Mesa Family History Library President who called that # and told of Censuses of Cramahe taken each year from l803, and would help many researchers whose ancesters may have lived in Newcastle District, particularly Cramahe Twp.

Military: George Palmer Junior, after enlisting on 4/4/1812, served with The Glengarry Light Infantry Fencible Regiment at Kingston (Ont) throughout the American War. He was last stationed at his Cramahe Township in February and March 1815. He was dischared from the Army on April 2, 1815 on completion of his three years engagementfor which he had enlisted. He was paid up to 16/4/1815,. a bounty of L6/10/8 & Grant of l00 acres (Lt Col.M.E.S. Unfortunately all the Regimental Books of the Glengarry were lost (ie captured or more probably destroyed by the American forces at the battle of York (the modern Toronto) The duplicate books later compiled are incomplete.(George dead)

We have tradition that leads us to believe that George Jr was a shoemaker (Cobbler or other leather works). His 3rd great gdfather Thomas Preston was a Shoemaker; and Zemira Draper, his wife's younger brother, gave that he learned the trade from his uncle, George Palmer Jr.
