    Biography
    •    From the records of Lois Macy "in my father's files and not in his handwriting: June 10, 1792.  Had four children--John, James, Samuel and a daughter who married an Asa Aldis.
Capt. John Goldsbury was a representative to the general court at Boston from Franklin for a number of years as shown by an old paper in which he presents a petition to the general court petitioning the governor to release his son, James, from service who enlisted as a private in the French and Indial (1754-1763) war.  The governor said that he could not grant the petition  but would promote him to the office of ensign which position he was fulfilling when he (James) died at Fort William Henry on Lake George.  Capt. John Goldsbury was a Tory and it is probable that his sons were, though there is some doubt about it."
